Harry Potter Advanced Potion Making Book

I am super excited to be a part of this year’s series with my wizard-loving, book-nut friend Marissa of.We are a Harry Potter loving family, and I’ve even gone all-out with a Harry Potter themed birthday party, starting with and with special cores given as party favors. Today, I’m sharing another fun project, Harry Potter’s Library printable book spines. You can turn ordinary books into magical books from the Harry Potter universe. The free PDF has titles like Advanced Potion-Making and The Muggle Conspiracy, as well as books by Rita Skeeter and Gilderoy Lockhart. They make fun props for a party, or just put them on your bookshelf and tell your friends they’re your old textbooks from your Hogwarts days.HARRY POTTER’S LIBRARY TUTORIAL8 books with 1.5″ -2″ spines, between 8″-10″ tallSee the full tutorial after the jump!Print and cut out the book spines onto white cardstock or matte presentation paper. It’s okay if there is a little bit of a white border around the printed images, just cut them off.

Choose the books you will cover. The books will need a 1.5″ – 2″ spine and should be between 8″-10″ tall.Place the fake spine against the real book spine and gently fold it around the book, lightly creasing the edges. With the spine centered on the book, mark the book’s length on both sides of the printed spine.Set the book aside and fold on the creases and where you marked the book length.Place a piece of colored cardstock against the folded edge and fold down the top and bottom edges to match the length of the printed spine. A ruler will help make a clean fold.Tuck the colored cardstock into the spine and tape it together in a few spots to make a full book cover with the fake spine.Fold the book cover around the book, folding the ends around the real book cover to completely cover the book. Use masking tape to seal the place where the printed spine and cardstock meet. Then, place some washi tape over the masking tape. Fold the edges over to the back of the book cover and tape to itself (not to the real book).Repeat for the remaining books until you have a complete library! The books look great lined up together on a shelf, or stack them on top of each other and strategically place them around the party room. Or, if you’re a student, you could attach these to your school book covers!
